Big News: Introducing the Wheat Sheet

The Globe and Mail reported yesterday on a big announcement from Markets Initiative and Canadian Geographic:

"For the first time in North America, a glossy magazine will be published on paper made from the pulp of wheat straw, a development advocates say could herald the birth of a new resource industry that would alleviate some of the pressure on Canadian forests."

Markets Initiative which helped develop the paper, calls it the best thing for forests since sliced bread. "The Wheat Sheet promises huge conservation gains, could spark a brand new resource industry in Canada and develop a new revenue stream for farmers. It's a win-win-win for the North American paper industry, farming communities, and our climate."
